Covid19 had a global impact BUT the show needed to go on.

Working with our valued client FinTech Australia, we developed a plan to safely produce the annual Finnies awards.

Bake helped with E2E production planning, crewing, location logistics and all the technical elements of producing a live / in studio live stream of the Finnie awards.

The livestream featured a range of guest presenters, a MC anchor and a range of media assets that needed to be streamed live to the YouTube servers.

01. Pre-production

In the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic, FinTech Australia turned to Bake to help ensure the Finnies Awards 2020 could still go ahead — safely and professionally. We developed an end-to-end production plan that accounted for social distancing, limited crew numbers, remote participation, and live broadcast needs. Planning covered everything from scripting and presenter scheduling to technical streaming workflows and set design for an in-studio shoot.

02. Solution

Bake executed a studio-based live stream production featuring a lead MC, virtual and in-person guest presenters, and a mix of pre-produced media elements. All content was streamed in real-time to YouTube servers with integrated graphics, video packages, and remote feeds — creating a seamless awards experience despite lockdown limitations. Our team managed everything from live direction and vision switching to backup stream protocols and audience moderation.

03. The Result

The Finnies 2020 live stream was a huge success — preserving the energy and recognition of the annual awards while adapting to global challenges. The production demonstrated how high-quality hybrid content could still bring people together, celebrate innovation, and uphold event prestige under pressure.
