MYER / Lucas Dawson Photography

It was great to work with lead agency Lucas Dawson Photography to cover the ‘behind the scenes / back stage’ action for MYER Spring ’16 launch at the Hordern Pavilion Sydney – in a range of time-lapse, 4K & slow motion capture.

‘1000 guests. 300 new season looks. 72 models. 1 up and coming Australian band. Take a look at the highlights from our biggest ever fashion event.#MyerSpring16

Bake crew covered the backstage action from hair by Kevin Murphy & make-up by YSL, through to staging & final looks for the walk out to the runway & the runway exit reaction shots.

The Lucas Dawson Photography team turned around a high quality next day edit for the client & sponsors from 4x camera coverage.

01.

Pre-production

In collaboration with Lucas Dawson Photography, we were brought on to capture the vibrant backstage atmosphere of the MYER Spring ’16 runway show at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion. With 72 models, 300 looks, and 1,000 guests, the scale of the production demanded precision planning and high-performance capture techniques.

02.

Solution

Our crew focused on the behind-the-scenes build-up—from hair and makeup to final runway prep—using a dynamic mix of time-lapse, 4K video, and slow-motion shots to reflect the energy and elegance of the event. Working across multiple camera angles, we followed the entire process: backstage styling with Kevin Murphy and YSL, pre-runway rituals, and post-show reactions.

This content was then passed to the Lucas Dawson team for a fast-turnaround edit, delivered the next day to MYER and its sponsors for immediate media and social use.

The Result

The MYER Spring ‘16 content captured the scale, artistry, and excitement of the fashion event in a way that extended its reach well beyond the venue. The final edit was shared across MYER’s official channels and helped position the brand’s seasonal launch as a standout cultural moment.
